Gift Card Holders
Here are a few gift card holders I have made. Below are the directions on how to make them.
Directions:
.
1. Start with a 4 3/4 x 12 inch and 1 x 12 inch pieces of double-sided card stock paper
2. Fold Bottom up to your desired height I normally fold to 3 in. but any height between 2-1/2 to 3 in will do as long as it holds the gift card. It will also depend on the pattern of paper you are using.
3. Fold down top so that you have the desired height. I normally go with a 4-1/2 in fold. Again, this depends on the pattern of paper you are using and what part of the pattern you want on the front.
4. Cut off top fold so that there is a 1/2 inch of the bottom fold showing. Option: Round corners.
5. Open holder up. Using the inside bottom fold, run a glue stick or tape runner along the outside edges. Make sure top edge is still open for the gift card to slide into.
6. On the outside of the bottom fold, either stickle the pattern that is already there or add other paper. Here I am using the coordinated pink circle paper for the inside fold. And the big penguins. I am cutting the penguins out one by one. To put the penguins on I can either use a tape runner or foam pop-up dots. I also made sure the feet can be seen when the holder is shut. Then stickling feet, nose, hat and scarf for added personality.
7. Using the 1 in strip, fold over the middle of the card. Tape down in the middle then trim access. Using stickers, die cut, etc for center focus, tape onto the middle of the strip.
On the inside top fold, you can add a tag or solid light paper to write a sentiment on.You can also add a tag on the front with the focal image to use for the to and from. I have used the penguins hats inside for the To and From and the bellies for the names.
These holders can be used for any occasion. And any double-sided card stock paper can be used. Just add a little more decorative-ness to add personality to your project. Stamps, Cricuts, stickers, etc. can be used for the focus point on the front.
